Our Road

Josh and I were married in December of 2003 between semesters at BYU (which is where we met). I am a Northern California girl and Josh is from freezing cold Minnesota. Utah seems to be our middle ground. We are a bit goofy and adventurous and try to work hard. A few years ago we bought a small fitness center and have been figuring that out ever since. We both have amazingly supportive and loving families and strong testimonies in our Savior. We are also unable to have biological children of our own. We have been approved through LDS Family Services for a year and a half and we are still looking for our first child. I started this blog as a place for my feelings and experiences while I travel down this road as a way to help me deal and make sense of it all. I also hope that maybe others in similar situations might know that they are not alone.

God's Mysterious Ways

So....this week.....
We received a call on Monday from our case worker Margaret (Josh had left for Canada just hours before). She asked me if we remembered the birth mother we had met a few months ago. My response: Um, yes. Well, the other family that she chose decided that this was not their baby and the birth mother wants us after all.
Hold the phone! What! Oh my goodness!

We have been having some insurance struggles due to Josh's employment change. So this has made this adoption seem a little impossible at times. But we are getting things worked out. I met with the birth mom, her mom and her sister yesterday and we talked for two hours. Things went so well. This is going to happen. AHHH!!!

Josh will be home next week. Our estimated due date is the 24th of this month. My mind is spinning. We were sent ultrasound pics last night and I was on the phone with Josh when he was showing friends saying "Want to see my son?" *chills*

I will get more details from our story up later.

In the mean time, please pray for us, our baby and our BEAUTIFUL birthmother.
